LAMINATORS

Vectorworks is seeking both ENTRY LEVEL and EXPERIENCED Laminators to join our team.  

Motivated ENTRY LEVEL candidates with a can do attitude and eager to learn a new skill are encouraged to apply. If you have the qualities we’re looking for, we will hire you and teach you. EXPERIENCED Laminators, particularly those with bona-fide infusion or gel-coat experience are also desired and encouraged to apply

 

Primary Job Duties:

-Clean molds

-Apply release agents/wax to facilitate removal of laminated parts

-Pattern and cut dry fiberglass

-Mix catalyst into resin determining adequate catalyst ratios

-Apply resin to fiberglass and roll to remove voids so that product is neat in appearance and structurally effective

-Use cabosil and other putties as needed

-Accurately operate chop and gelcoat guns

-Read and understand lamination schedule, blueprints, and other documentation as needed

-Preparation of components for installation (sanding/grinding)

-Determine adequate catalyst ratios for given ambient conditions

-Understand and maintain resin to glass ratios

-Understand and utilize pyramid principle and overlaps

-Understand and perform correct scarfing procedures for repairs

-Able to construct composite parts utilizing infusion process

-Operate forklift and perform other cross functional duties as directed

 

Work Schedule:

While we reserve the right to adjust schedules to suit legitimate business needs, the bulk of our Team Members work 7am to 3:30pm. Consistent, on time attendance is expected.

 

Tools and Equipment:

Lamination rollers, scissors, tape measure, 3" or 5" grinders, hammer, chisels, scrapers, Candidates with experience using chop guns, gelcoat guns and forklifts are preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

Able to wear protective clothing (eyeglasses, gloves, clothing, respirators, dust masks); able to carry and use all tools necessary to perform job assignments (minimum of 30lbs); able and willing to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
