PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
Primary Job Duties:
- Develop and manage supplier relationships
- Negotiate with suppliers on cost, quality, delivery
- Purchase a variety of products and services, according to defined policies and procedures
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure vendors are meeting their commitments
- Update vendor pricing as needed
- Assist or gather and summarize data on sources of supplies, prices, and availability
- Evaluate vendor performance including price variances, on time delivery, shortages and the like
- Arrange the return of rejected items and ensure transactions are processed accurately timely
- Perform other administrative and clerical task as assigned including filing, supplier set-up, assisting with resolution of receiving or accounts payable issues, or other various tasks as needed.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Global Shop or Visual Manufacturing preferred
- Prior purchasing experience in composites or marine industry preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Ability to proactively and effectively engage others across functional and business area lines to resolve potential challenges
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications in a business environment
- Minimum of high school diploma; some college work preferred
Work Schedule:
- While we reserve the right to adjust schedules to suit legitimate business needs, the normal schedule for this position will be 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to wear protective eyewear as needed if visiting the shop floor
